The progress of your work is monitored by the supervision of your PhD committee and has to be presented in the ‘Friday seminar’ series from time to time. The committee is composed of your own group leader and two or three other VBC group leaders of your choice. Its members evaluate your progress and offer you scientific advice and support. The ‘Friday seminar’ is a compulsory talk for all PhD students and post-docs of the campus. Within 15 minutes, you explain the basis and aims of your work to a competent audience. Afterwards, you are confronted with feedback and suggestions, which should help you to improve your rhetoric skills.
