Pedagogical Aims and Services

We consider a nursery to be an institution of education. It is our aim to create learning opportunities and at the same time to make children feel completely at home in their daytime surroundings.

What is of special importance to us?

  • Respectful and caring behaviour
  • Open and confident communication between parents and staff
  • A loving and caring atmosphere for the children
  • A caring and reassuring settling-in period during which children will be given their individually needed care and time. Daily routine and strong parental support will be necessary at the beginning of this process.
  • The promotion of children’s self-esteem. Individuality, independence, social behaviour, democratic decision making and inter-personal relationships.
  • Cognitive stimulation. Talking about and understanding various issues and projects.
  • Stimulation of speaking ability. This works best between the ages of 2 and 5 as the so-called “window for language development” opens in a child’s brain during this period.
  • Stimulation of creativity through painting and handicraft with various materials and will include visits to theatre, puppet shows and cinema.
  • Stimulation of individual social development by organising everyday life together, celebrating together, learning from each other and acting out conflict situations in non-aggressive ways.
  • Stimulation of exercise and interest in the outside world by out-of-doors play, gymnasium sessions and excursions for example to bakers, police, museums, a farm and science days.

Project participation lasting 2 or 3 months according to the complexity of the subject.
